I'm sorry, but you seem to have a stupid browser. It is currently the 21st century. Please get a browser that was created after 1950 and supports Cascading Style Sheets. I suggest Mozilla Firefox.

Software

This is a webpage that was generated by the server. It does not contain real opinions or onions. This webpage suggests that you read and enjoy the software listed. It also suggests that it has been tested by many people and is proven, but the server doesn't know that. The server made the webpage, but they don't really get along now and the webpage is dissing the server. The webpage now comunicates with another server. Hahaha!

Internet Utilities

Mozilla Firefox: Browser
Firefox is a free, open-source web browser for Windows, Linux and MacOS X and is based on the Mozilla codebase. It is small, fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over Internet Explorer, such as the ability to block pop-up windows. Oh, one more thing. When you hit the "stop" button, it actually works. Need I say more?

Mozilla Thunderbird: Email Client
This is all you need for email. IMAP, POP, News and the works. It's still small and very functional. And it is secure! Outlook Express, on the other hand, is probably responsible for billions of dollars of damage because it's so promiscuous with viruses.

Gaim: Chat Client for AIM, ICQ and Yahoo + more
No ads, no stupid popup windows and nice features. It supports multiple instances — in other words, you can have AIM running in one window and ICQ in another.

Mozilla: Internet Application Suite
Web-browser built for 2004, advanced e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing made simple — all your Internet needs in one application. In my opinion, you don't really need this unless you want to integrate all your internet stuff. I like to have it split up into different applications. However, Mozilla is a very nice product.

Office Applications

Open Office: Complete MS Office Substitute
A highly functional office suite that can even use MS office formats. By the way, it's free.

LaTeX
The standard for discriminating typesetters. The most powerful typesetting system ever invented. Most math textbooks, for example, are typeset with LaTeX. Nothing else comes close. If you use it for your thesis, you'll save yourself weeks of work. I did. I mean, this webserver did.

The GIMP: An alternative to Adobe Photoshop
This is a very nice free alternative to Adobe. I find that for my level of use, it's equal. I'm sure that other people could give a better comparison. It's not actually free. Someone worked really hard to make it, and if you like it you could donate a little to the GIMP project.

AutoCAD: Computer Aided Drafting Software
This is what I use at work. I do like it and I've done a lot of work with it.

Desktop Environments

Fluxbox
Fluxbox is a minimal, highly configurable window manager for GNU systems running an X server. It offers features such as the ability to group windows together by tabs, multiple desktops, and an easy-to-edit menu. It will change the way you work.

XFCE
XFCE is a more familiar environment for those used to common non-Free operating systems. It is very small, fast and stable, and supports the emerging specification of a unified desktop environment. It is also gorgeous and a joy to use; in this web server's opinion, much superior to Gnome or KDE.
